Do you want to volunteer your time and contribute to a University Radio Station News Department that covers it all, not just UVA news? If so, the News Department of 91.1 WTJU-FM might be right for you.

The WTJU News Department covers issues at the University, and in Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and Central Virginia communities. Topics include education, government, health, the environment, crime, and other issues of importance to a listening area that spans sixty miles.

WTJU is looking for experienced writers, editors, producers, reporters, on-air anchors, and researchers to assist in the creation of our 5 minute/5 day-a-week broadcast.

WTJU is also looking for writers for longer feature stories, and/or political reporters to cover upcoming elections.

WTJU will train its volunteers, but a love for journalism and a sincere interest in the community is NECESSARY. It can be exceedingly difficult to write about things that don't interest you!!!

WTJU is looking for highly motivated, mature individuals who are committed to the time they opt to spend at the station
